We read a book called Meet the Meerkat today, and we learned many things. We learned that a meerkat will make different noises when they are scared, and they are frightened of eagles and jackals because those animals might try to eat them. Meerkats live in Africa, which is not in our country or continent. Meerkats are about the size of a squirrel. They can run and can sleep with their family at night underground. They eat insects like scorpions and take turns looking for danger. Natalia thinks their face looks like a triangle. The meerkats plays with his brothers and sisters. This is a good book to read.

I read a nonfiction book about Volcanoes. I learned that the stuff that comes out of them is made out of rocks. The rocks are very hot, like the sun, and there are three ways that the lava can flow. If you are on an island you can see the explosion even better and it is more dangerous. You should read more in our library about volcanoes because it is fun to learn about.

Some third graders have been reading about natural disasters and weather for a project. I have really enjoyed listening to them talk about their books, and I am glad that they are learning so much about this interesting topic. Check out the library catalog for some great books on wild weather!

I read the book Stuntplanes one thing I like about it is that I like stuntplanes and the cool thing is that when it says that after world war 2 those planes were used to do stunts. One plane of the air force is the blue angels and one of the best planes are the jn 4d. The pilots that are good perform stunts called barnstormers. Another special thing was the oil tank blew to a colorful color like smoke the smoke is used to make a shape like a square and diffrent shapes. Planes can be made by different sizes some are olny13 ft and the first thing a planes starts off is diving down then you do a loop up.

I read a book about the ANACONDAS. What I liked about the book was that
the anacondas are so strong and that they could eat a a bird,
a small mammal, and a turtle. And they hide in water when they are gonna hunt, they mostly hunt at night and in the day they rest in muddy swamps.

I read, The life cycle of a snail, by Andrew Hipp illustrated by Dwight Kuhn.
I learned that if you’re trying to look for a snail you could go to a desert, on mountains, forests, and at oceans. Snails eat mostly plants and dead animals. Some snails eat so much plants they become pests to farmers and gardeners. Most snails like dead plants more than they like living plants .They will also eat cardboard and damp paper which is made from dead plants. Every single snail has a different shape, size, and color.A snails shell is strong so that it keeps it from drying out. It also protects it from predators.A lot of animals like to eat snails.Even snails eat snails.

Why is it snowing by Judith Williams, what causes the snow crystals when it snows?
Snow crystals are usually found in five different shapes. Also when the crystals are in the sky they move around in the clouds.
Have your mom and dad ever traveled in a blizzard? If they did then tell them not to
do it again because it’s not safe.

SNAKES was an interesting book. Snakes can climb a tree, they can smell odors by wiggling their tongue. Snakes can do all these remarkable things, and more, these amazing animals are legless reptiles. Many kinds of snakes grab their prey with their teeth, then quickly coil their body.
